The article reports the outcome of a roundtable discussion highlighting the importance of biodiversity monitoring and the need to regularize monitoring in Eastern Africa and share results. It addresses several issues including what taxa should be monitored, who should monitor and how should the process be designed. It suggests the importance of conducting biodiversity monitoring by all countries for conservation.
