The article discusses a study to determine the effectivity of green tea as an aid to weight loss. The study aimed to compare green tea with green tea supplements, and see if such can affect body weight, glucose and lipid profile, as well as biomarkers of oxidative stress. The subjects chosen were 35 people with weight and metabolic problems, and monitored over an 8 week period, with some taking only water, others green tea, and a third group taking green tea extracts. The results showed that green tea and extracts of such, were effective in weight loss.
