The article discusses a pilot study of soil carbon sequestration potential in Hudson Valley, New York using the Voluntary Reporting of Greenhouse Gases-Carbon Management Evaluation Tool (COMET-VR). The study aimed to provide New York scientists and policymakers with information about the development of a framework for a carbon credit program. It showed the potential for getting reliable estimates of soil carbon sequestration on a region characterized by diverse farming.
