Simple model for wet granular beds subjected to tapping.

We present a simple model to describe the response of a granular bed to a tapping-like excitation when grains can form capillary bridges due to the presence of interstitial liquid. We implement a pseudodynamic simulation of adhesive hard disks. The packing fraction and coordination number after the steady state of the tapping process has been reached are compared for different tapping intensities and liquid contents. We find some contrasting behavior with dry systems and qualitative agreement with experimental data. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
