In this article the author discusses the evolution of the international reporting system monitoring the Declaration of Commitment on HIV/AIDS's implementation which was derived from the 2001 United Nations General Assembly Special Session on HIV/AIDS (UNGASS). It mentions that HIV/AIDS reporting response rate escalated to 77% from 54% after the 2008 reporting round worldwide. Additionally, it notes that the reporting system is an effective guide creating sustainable response to the HIV epidemic.
