The article presents a study that develops, characterizes and evaluates glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1). It is argued that the said element is a potential therapeutic agent for type 2 diabetes mellitus. In the study, the attempt to extend the life of GLP-1 is undertaken through attaching a lysine residue and to develop a fusion protein with human serum albumin. The result of the study shows that the fusion protein preserved the action of GLP-1.
