The article presents the study conducted regarding the use of culture-independent 16S rRNA gene under cloning approach on determining the microbial diversity of mine water at Zhong Tiaoshan copper mine in Shanxi province, China. The study based on the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) of the Operational Taxonomic Units (OTU) and biogeochemical data shows that the diversity of microbial communities in water is affected by the biogeochemical properties. The different concentrations and temperature of several elements also influenced the structure and composition of microbial communities.
