The article offers brief accounts of some notable aspects of the publishing history of the Fifth Symphony and "Das Lied von der Erde," composed by Gustav Mahler. Some of the issues confronting a bibliographer of Mahler, such as the range of printed formats issued, techniques for dating copies, and ways of identifying separate impressions are being outlined. The first edition of the study score of the Fifth Symphony is also cited. Musical issues of the vocal score and text of "Das Lied von der Erde" are also pointed out.
