In a letter to the editor of the Journal of Translational Medicine, Jia-Cheng Xiang and Yi-Fan Xiong point out flaws in the GWAS datasets used in a published study on the relationship between Alzheimer's disease (AD) and cancer. They found that incorrect GWAS datasets were used and suggest using the correct dataset to investigate the relationship between AD and family history of AD. They also conducted complementary analyses using data from other sources and identified a strong association between the PVRIG gene and AD. They recommend improving the analytical methodology and further investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms between PVRIG and AD. [Extracted from the article]
