Parliaments play a crucial role during a pandemic in supporting their community to safely navigate the public health emergency. Parliaments must meet regularly, be provided with sufficient time to debate key measures and issues, exercise legislative oversight, and scrutinise government administration and policy. We examine whether Australian Parliaments met these standards during the COVID-19 pandemic. We find that Australian Parliaments often performed poorly. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
