Therefore, in the in silico miRNA discovery phase of this study, we aimed to identify candidate miRNAs that were upregulated in liver metastasis compared to normal colon mucosa and surrounding normal liver, ensuring that we can successfully develop clinically actionable circulating metastasis-associated miRNAs.
