The article informs about research to study the spread the opened nuclear envelope (NE) onto the grids with minimal force and used the chemical cross-linker glutaraldehyde to stabilize the nuclear pore complex (NPC) resides on the NE and mediates nucleocytoplasmic cargo transport to reduce conformational heterogeneity of the sample. It mentions that cytoplasmic ring (CR) subunit of human NPC reconstructed by cryo–electron tomography through subtomogram averaging.
