The authors comment on a study by J. P. Campbell and colleagues which described a multicenter screening program in India, the Retinopathy of Premature Eradication Save Our Sight program which was done in collaboration with the Imaging and Informatics in Retinopathy of Prematurity (iROP) in the U.S. Topics discussed include performance of iROP deep learning (DL), important limitations of the study, and other groups that are working on artificial intelligence (AI) for ROP screening.
