On 22 August 2019, TRIUMF, Canada's particle accelerator laboratory, hosted "ISAC20", a symposium to celebrate two decades of discovery with rare isotope beams (RIBs) from the Isotope Separation and Acceleration (ISAC) facility. The short-lived isotopes are produced at ISAC by the Isotope Separation On-Line method using a beam of up to 100 A of 500 MeV protons from the TRIUMF H SP - sp cyclotron to bombard thick production targets (e.g., SiC, TiC, ZrC, UC, Nb, and Ta). A second proton beam-line from TRIUMF's 500 MeV H- cyclotron for isotope production via proton-induced spallation and fission is also under construction.
