The odd-mode and even-mode spoof surface plasmon polariton (SSPPs) transmission based on a complementary plasmonic structure are studied in this paper. The dispersion properties and electromagnetic field distributions of odd-mode and even-mode are analyzed. The odd-mode SSPPs transmission line is fed by a microstrip line, in which its measured insertion losses are within 2.58 ± 1.67 dB from 3.0 to 10.0 GHz. The first even-mode SSPP transmission line is fed by the microstrip line, in which its measured insertion losses are within 3.65 ± 1.33 dB from 5.0 to 16.0 GHz. And the second even-mode SSPPs transmission line is fed by a coplanar waveguide, in which its measured insertion losses are within 3.60 ± 1.25 dB from 5.0 to 16.0 GHz. The measured data are consistent with the simulated results, indicating their excellent transmission performances at microwave frequencies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
