The article examines energy use reduction strategies and the conversion of energy resources from fossil fuels to renewable ones in both existing and new campus facilities. These include the various building types on campus such as student life facilities, administrative and educational buildings, and research facilities. It adds that shifting the energy source from fossil fuels to renewables may require greater reliance on power rather than steam for heating and chilled water for cooling.
