The aim was to analyze the influence of demographic and social features on the working ability of patients with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The study sample consisted of 160 PTSD patients divided in two subgroups: those with and without working ability recommended by a treating psychiatrist. Psychiatric evaluation was done according to DSM-JV criteria. Necessary data were collected from patients directly and from their medical file. Social support (expressed by providing steady jobs) showed the biggest influence on working ability of patients with PTSD. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
