A study examined preservice teachers' ideas of classroom management and organization. In an open-ended questionnaire, students in their final year of a five-year program discussed their definitions and conceptions of classroom management, organization, and rule systems. The respondents showed a preoccupation with behavior management that was previously seen in other studies. The findings also revealed underlying issues in respondents' theoretical orientations and concepts of management.
