A fundamental flaw of research on racial disproportionality and disparity is that these problems have not been widely studied with a lens toward systemic racism and oppression. Approaches that contribute to dangerous blind spots within the literature are discussed and avenues for moving forward are offered. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
