Novel blue organic compound is provided. Using the blue organic compound, an organic electroluminescent device is provided, which achieved a blue emission with high efficiency, saturated color and long device lifetime. The novel blue organic compound is represented by the following general formula (1). [chemical expression included] wherein R1, R2, R3, and R4 represent a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group from 6 to 20 carbon atoms, in which R1, R2, R3, and R4 may be identical with or different from each other, or R1-R2 and R3-R4 may be bridged to 5 to 7-membered carbocyclic ring. R5 to R16 represent hydrogen or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl or aryl group from 1 to 10 carbon atoms. Besides, R1-R5, R2-R6, R3-R15, R4-R16, R5-R7, R6-R8, R9-R11, R10-R12, R13-R15 and R14-R16 may be bridged to a carbocyclic ring from 3 to 10 carbon atoms.
