(Abstracted from Genet Med 2019;21:1958–1968)It is generally accepted that genetic screening has the potential to prevent disease through early identification. The authors suggest that one cost-effective way to implement genetic screening into a single-payer or state-funded health care system is a combined genetic screening approach—one that tests for multiple conditions concurrently—versus individual targeted testing.
