Paediatric type follicular lymphoma is a rare variant of follicular lymphoma, only recently recognised and included in the 2008 WHO Classification of Tumors of Haematopoietic and Lymphoid Tissues. It has a different histological, immunohistochemical and genetic profile to adult follicular lymphoma, and has a better prognosis. We report a case of paediatric follicular lymphoma in a 17 year old male, and discuss the clinical and pathological features of the case. Distinguishing features from adult type follicular lymphoma and florid follicular hyperplasia (the main differential diagnoses) will also be discussed.
