This study attempted to analyze and describe the counseling discourse from the perspective of Foucault’s subjectivity in terms of the process of forming subjectivity of educational college students. The study participant was an educational college student contemplating a career path, who showed the transformation of subjectivity and expressed it verbally in counseling. The results of analyzing the process of forming subjectivity through the discourse analysis method based on the counseling discourse are as follows. As the subjectivity that appears in the counseling discourse, First, the participant revealed herself subordinated to social expectations, saying, 'Others want me to be a teacher,' with others on the subject of the sentence. Second, the participants expressed relationship orientation and growth desire as contrasting concepts, and said, 'I need to distance myself from my surroundings.' Third, the participant expressed the subjectivity by self questioning, 'Is my idea really my idea?' As the client’s subjectivity that is formed through interaction with the counselor First, while recognizing the voice of self-criticism, the participant accepted the subjugated appearance of 'self being swayed by the relationship.' Second, the participant discovered 'own pace' while embodying own needs through selection and exclusion. Third, the participant discovered and declared a new self based on her own unique needs, expressing 'I’m supposed to do it anyway'. Based on these research results, the implications for counseling in relation to the formation of subjectivity of educational college student were discussed, and the significance and limitations of the study were revealed.
