There are some obvious similarities between gold ewers in Xianyang Museum collection and findings from the site of Baekje Maitreya Temple, implying the possibilities of shared origins in style, decorative motif and techniques. Due to the contacts between Tang Empire and Baekje Kingdom, especially after the fall of Baekje Kingdom, the author attempts to trace the archaeological discoveries and to explore the remains of Baekje people who stayed in the Tang territories. Although there are no clear and persuasive evidences to reveal the relevance of the Xianyang Museum ewer with Baekje people, more comparable elements could be investigated. From the broader historical context during that period, cultural exchanges between West and East were motivated by people, including Buddhism, which was introduced into China and became the popular belief, as well as one of the important means to secure the ruling of royal families. Buddhism was brought into other countries including Baekje via land or sea road, and flourished there. These two examples of gold vessels suggested a multidimensional networks of cultural communications and integration.
