Purpose The study was aimed to evaluate the effect of a Craft Program of Occupational Therapy on cognitive function, Depression, Activity of daily living and Hand function for patients dementia living in a local community. Methods A Craft Program of occupational therapy was conducted 10 weeks from September to December 2015 on 9 patients with dementia who are admitted to nursing home. Evaluation of the cognitive function, Depression, Activity of daily living and hand function was performed before intervention and after 8 weeks using MOCA, K-MMSE, ACL, K-GDS, K-IADL, Grip Strength and 9-Hole Peg test. Results All the evaluation showed the difference statistically significant(p<.05), except for MOCA. Conclusion The craft program of occupational therapy may be a useful intervention for dementia. thus it is necessary to develop a various Craft program that would also require ongoing research in cognitive function, activities of daily living, depression and hand function recovery of dementia.
