China is an ancient civilization famous for civilization of etiquette and music; it gave birth to the "Chu Culture" in the five thousand years of historical development. "Chu Culture" is deeply influencing culture of South Korea by its traits of mystery, romance, imagination, and idealism. Korean traditional dance is known as elegance, simplicity, and focusing on the preservation of original dance. Tracing back to the source, Korean traditional dance has innumerable links with the ritual culture, Taoist ideas and Zen thought in "Chu Culture". Zheng Xiaohui, Liu Chengxue, Jin Jin Fang demonstrated the origins of the traditional mainstream culture of South Korea and Chu Culture of China from the geographical origin, philosophy, sacrificial customs and other aspects in the paper Origin of Korean Culture and Chu Culture. However, from the perspective of dancology, rarely has study involved the analysis of "Chu Culture" and traditional dance of South Korea. In this paper, the culture of South Korea and "Chu Culture" are taken as subject. We try to analyze the relationship of traditional dance of South Korea and the sacrificial rites, Taoist ideas, and Zen thought in "Chu Culture", thus, we can further investigate the influence of "Chu Culture" on traditional dance of South Korea.
