The purpose of this study is to verify whether the social inhibition has any mediated effect and whether national identity and peer relationship controls the mediated effect of social inhibition in the effect of acculturative stress of parents from multicultural families on youth children's depression by utilizing the data of Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study(MAPS). The research targets include the data of parents and youth children from 1117 multicultural families that participated in the 7th year panel survey, the mediated effect is analyzed by utilizing Model 4 of Macro Process for SPSS, and the controlled mediated effect is verified by using Model 21. The main results of this study are as follows. First, social inhibition was found to have the partial mediation in the relation between the acculturative stress of parents from multicultural families and depression of youth children. Second, the national identity was found to control the effect on youth children's social inhibition of parents' acculturative stress. That is, the higher the national identity, the less the influence of parents' acculturative stress on the social inhibition of youth children. Third, it was found the influence of social inhibition of adolescents in multicultural families on depression was controlled by peer relationship. That is, the more positive peer relationship the youth builds, the less the influence of social inhibition on depression. Through this, this study is expected to be able to prevent depression of youth from multicultural families and provide basic data for therapeutic intervention.
