A composition is composed of a reinforcement and a matrix, which determine mechanical characteristics of the molded part. There is no doubt that the properties of a composites depend not only on the characteristics of the matrix but also on the structure of glass fiber mat and a fiber type of reinforcement. In this study, we made a sheet by means of a hot-press after accumulating a matrix and a glass fiber according to each fiber content by weight and length of glass fiber. The orientation function is obtained using one-dimensional rectangular shaped part compression molding. The fiber orientation function under various molding conditions is studied to grasp the fiber orientation during press molding. Result shows that the main factor having effect on fiber orientation function is the compression ratio. Also, we study effect of the mold temperature on the fiber orientation function.
