I want to explore the thinking that critiqued Japan's fictions and weaknesses in times of war. During the Russo-Japanese War, Uchimura Kanzo developed the idea of absolute peace from the perspective of Christian theology. In a time of rampant militarism, he was alone in Japan to articulate Christian peace thinking, leaving a model of how people can build pacifism. From a critic's point of view, Takeuchi Yoshimi reinterpreted Lu Xun's thought, and used it to provide the discourse of reflection in Japanese society. He studied literature from Lu Xun not just as a theory but as an action, and thus used it as a weapon to break the image of postwar Japan.
