The objective of this paper is to analyze urban residents' preference on green tourism in Tianjin. The data was collected from 218 urban residents in Tianjin, China. It was conducted for about 2 months, from February 23 to April 15, 2012. The main results of this study could be summarized as follows:1. The urban residents' awareness about green tourism in Tianjin is very high. And 62.7% of them have a postive attitude about taking part in green tourism. But only 34.2% of urban residents have experienced it. The results indicate that there is a lot of potential demand for green tourism market, so we have to do more work in positioning, marketing and analyzing potential customer's demands. Then we should diverse special characters in different village in order to turn the demands into actions. According to this paper, urban residents in Tianjin like to take part in green tourism in spring much more than other seasons. They also like to travel with friends together and spend a night in hotel.So it is necessary to attract travellers during different seasons, so we need to design different travel programmes which suit for summer, autumn, especially winter. 2. Out of 1 variable (sex) related to the perceivness of green tourism, Out of 1 variable (child) related to experiencing green tourism. Out of 2 variables (career and the experience of countryside life) related to willingness of green tourism.On one hand, families with child or children under 18 years old have more experience about green tourism. On the other hand, the term--"green tourism" is widerly known by women than men. But men have a deeper understanding about the term if they have heard of it. House-wives like to take part in green tourism best, and the people who used to live in countryside between 1-10 years have a low willingness of green tourism than others.3. The results also show that people who experienced green tourism prefer sleep in a farmer's house. If they don't have experience about green tourism, they would like to choose hotel better. People who earn more than 3500RMB and less than 1500RMB prefer business program more than others. Students in the universities are not interested in rural food experience as well as people with other education levels. 4. Responders preferred “rural food experience”, "recreation activities" and "enjoy natural landscape" the most among the 8 kinds of experiential activities, respectively. In terms of sex, women like “cultural experience” more than men. In terms of career, housewives and white-colors prefer “cultural experience”more than the other job people. 5. They are willing to pay about 151RMB for logging, 77RMB for food, 67RMB for agri-products and 61RMB for experiencing programs at most.
