The global economic slowdown and the Covid-19 pandemic have created a crisis inthe domestic and foreign fashion industries. Additionally, the long-term slump in thefashion market has led to a transformation in the image of fashion through collaborativemarketing with strategic alliance marketing into other industries. Despite the growingnumber of cases of unique collaborative marketing activities with online games, a politicalanalysis of the effects has so far been insufficient, and the need for research to manage andimprove customer equity is being considered the most important factor for fashion brands.Accordingly, in this study, we wanted to examine the impact of online gamecollaboration marketing activities of fashion brands on the brand's customer equity andanalyze the impact on the purchase intention and customer lifetime value (CLV).Furthermore, in this research model, differences in path models between groups wereidentified according to collaboration types (categories of Skins and Goods) andcollaboration brands (categories of Luxury and Sports). Furthermore, the researchersexamined the difference between customers regarding their preference and tendencies infashion innovativeness, social presence, and self-congruity.This study utilized four stimulants whose operation inspection was completed throughpreliminary test and verified the validity of the measurement question by conducting apreliminary survey on each measurement question. In this investigation, a survey wasconducted specifically on Korean consumers with experience in using games andpurchasing Louis Vuitton or FILA brands, and a total of 346 responses were used in the final analysis. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 21.0 statisticsprogram. As a result of the study, the online game collaborative marketing activities of fashionbrands have a significant impact on value equity, brand equity and relationship equity, which are the leading contributing factors for customer equity. In the relationship betweenthe factors preceding the customer equity and the purchase intention, the brand equity andthe relationship equity had a significant effect on the purchase intention, and only therelationship equity had a significant effect on the relationship with the CLV. On the otherhand, there was no significant influence in the relationship between purchase intention andCLV. Furthermore, it was confirmed that significant results were derived from thedifferences between groups according to the brands collaborating and the collaborationtypes. More significant influence was confirmed in the types of sports brands andcollaboration skins type rather than the assumed luxury brands and collaboration goodstype. In addition, differences between groups based on consumer propensity were found tobe significant between fashion innovativeness and social presence groups, but differencesbetween groups based on self-congruity tendencies were not proven as significant. This research is different from previous studies in that it focuses on the collaborativeeffect study with the online gaming industry, which still is a study not well-informed uponacademically in the field of fashion area. The study can be used as a useful material torespond to changes in the human paradigm through the verification of differences betweengroups using various adjustable variables. In practical terms, it is meaningful that the onlinegame collaboration marketing activities of fashion brands have presented the market andshort-term development directions of fashion companies by examining the impact of theironline game collaboration marketing activities on customer equity and purchasingintentions. In addition, the results of this study can contribute to brand performance byproviding useful information on marketing customer segmentation and brand strategyestablishment and management of fashion brands.
