Design and Implementation of Unidirectional OpticalCamera Communication System.Since Optical Wireless Communication (OWC) attracts wireless technology science by its free and outstanding spectrum, Optical Camera Communication (OCC) is also becoming the interesting topic and getting more feasible just by adding communication functionality to the existing infrastructure, initializing light sources (LED light/ LED or LCD screen) as transmitters and the increasing number of cameras embedded in handle devices/machines as receivers. This thesis introduces asynchronous OCC as a part of OWC in which the system is simple, low cost, hence achieving more feasibility without the requirement of uplink. In order to do that, the new asynchronous communication schemes are necessary to bring light sources and cameras together into the unidirectional OCC system. Some combination of light sources with cameras are introduced by giving some promising scenarios of asynchronous OCC, such as LEDs-to-camera, Screen-to-camera, and OCC in the vehicular environment. Each of introduced scenarios will be analyzed, and then we designed and proposed an unidirectional-system suitable for each environment. After that, asynchronous communication schemes are proposed. Finally, the experimental results and implemented systems are shown to demonstrate our ideas.
