Humans live in this great nature which is the root of all things and have received esthetic materials, spirit beauty from the nature. We have produced new works of art through spiritual inspiration and esthetic materials that have been given from natural phenomenon such as flow of time and change of season. It's mostly natural desire to have natural phenomenon as the source of the expression. Among nature, Sea is cognized as the object of various symbolic and figurative meaning because sea stirs up people's infinite imagination. Therefore this study focuses on jewelry study that embodies sea, by imagining the free flow of sea, dynamic, and flexible form. A fluid and abstract marbling technique is very appropriate to express flexible form of the sea. Additionally the concept, figurative elements, and classification about flexible form of the sea are examined based on domestic and foreign literature and this study researches the concept of marbling and it's history. This study analyzes modeling elements like rhythm, repetition, gradation to model flexible form of sea and classification of flexible form of sea is classified into light penetrability, that is to say time, weather, and depth of water according to external environment, so it extracts various colors of sea through the change of the sea. Hanji which is traditional korean paper handmade, Epoxy, and Brass are used as main materials for work of art, sea color extracted through marbling techniques is expressed and produced on the Hanji. The outstanding absorptiveness and spreadability are very good to express marbling pattern of various colour senses so it makes up for the weak point of limits of color senses when metal is used. Also the light density of Hanji is made up by using second processed Hanji that is dried from porridge shape in the form of original Hanji and it's surface is wrapped up with Epoxy so the density of work is not missed. It shows that work of art is produced considering both durability and functional purpose when the material 'Hanji' is being made for jewelry. This study tries to model through marbling techniques to embody abstract flow of the sea according to figurative classification of flexible form of sea and pattern classification based on the light. This study produces jewelry artwork representing flexible form of sea by using material 'Hanji' and marbling techniques. It is suitable to express natural lifelike, various and new sensitivity and gives more possibility of modeling to artists by showing various image of the sea in modeling.
