The art education has close relationship with life on the learner's social and environmental point of view. However, the weight is being only put on the superficial art expression activity and the environmental problems that have come to the fore in the industrial development process are not properly reflected. In addition, the students' individualism is deepening in the change of the life environment according to the nuclear family phenomenon and the infinite competition that becomes more severe. Acknowledging these problems, the cooperative art learning lessons using the green design are being proposed as the high school art education method for a development in the healthy community concept that this era requires and the sustainable civilization growth. Thus, this thesis is a study on the theoretical background of the green design, educational cases and cooperative learning concept and models. And, the ‘Green Shop making’, the cooperative art learning utilizing the green design based on this study is proposed. This is the type of program where the whole class makes the shop for the household items using recyclables and is the lesson guiding scheme where the students make the recyclable products according to the group's thesis, decide prices for the products and even sell those products.
