As the market for electric vehicles grows in response to climate change, researchs are actively underway to improve electric vehicle performance. electric vehicles are composed of many electronic components and thus requires EMI shielding performance, and a heater that will maintain a constant temperature to exhibit high performance even at low temperatures is also required. The PTC composite materials can be obtained by blending crystalline polymer and conductive particle. When the temperature reaches the melting temperature of the crystalline polymer, the distance of the conductive particles is increased due to volume expansion of the crystalline polymer to increase electrical resistance, and when the temperature is decreased again, the electrical resistance is decreased. Because of these characteristics, the PTC composite materials are formed as a heating element and used as a self-temperature controlling heater. In addition, carbons of the PTC composite materials are known as a material that absorbs electromagnetic waves, and thus may be used as an EMI shielding material. In this work, we research spray coating processes and materials systems for surfaces of 3D objects to form PTC composite materials with a double characteristics of a self-temperature control function and EMI shielding to improve the performance of an electric vehicle. In order to improve adhesive performance so that spray-coated PTC composite materials do not fall off the surface of the 3D structure, (3-aminopropyl) triethoxysilane is coated on the surface, and then the PTC composite materials are printed. Also, after drying because condensate water generated by compressed air during the spraying process is not mixed with the PTC composite material, the agglomeration phenomenon is improved by adding diethylene glycol monobutyl ether (DEGBE) to the nonionic surfactant. we evaluate that whether the spray-coated PTC composite materials have the same performance as the screen-printed PTC composite materials used in the actual production site and whether the spray-coated PTC composite materials formed on the surface of the 2D structure have the same performance as the spray-coated PTC composite materials formed on the surface of the 3D structure. Lastly, we evaluate that the EMI shielding performance of the spray-coated PTC composite material
