IGF-1 유전자는 18 CA repeat(190 bp) 가 50.0%로 가장 높은 빈도를 나타냈으며 homozygote(N=11), heterozygote(N=22), non- carriers(N=11)에 해당되는 것으로 나타났다.
In this study, physical fitness and growth index according to IGF-1 gene polymorphism of children were analyzed, and the effect of regular Taekwondo training for 16 weeks on physical fitness and growth index according to IGF-1 gene polymorphism of children were compared. The research subjects were 44 second-grade students at B and D elementary schools in K city of K province. Among IGF-1 genes, 18 CA repeat(190 bp) was most prevalent, specifically 50.0%, and were homozygote(N=11), heterozygote(N=22), and non-carriers groups(N=11). After 16-weeks of Taekwondo training among the gene polymorphism groups, the effect on physical fitness and growth index were compared and analyzed and the conclusions were as follows; First, in terms of the physical fitness and growth index among the gene polymorphism groups, there was no significant difference in most items including physical fitness, bone age, bone score, physique, body composition, and blood variables, but HOMA-IR was significantly low in the heterozygote group, while non-carriers group showed higher predicted heights. Second, in the comparison of physical fitness and growth index according to gene polymorphism after-16-weeks of Taekwondo training, grip strength improved significantly in the homozygote group, especially the PEI and the balance result of standing on one leg with eyes closed in the non-carriers group, and thigh circumference in the homozygote group. In terms of blood variables, IGF-1 increased significantly in the heterozygote group, HOMA-IR decreased significantly in the homozygote group, as did glucoses in the homozygote and non-carriers groups. In the study, the hypothesis that there will be a difference in physical fitness and growth index according to the children’s IGF-1 polymorphism was not verified. Also, only a slight influence was found in terms of the hypothesis that there will be a difference in change of physical fitness and growth index according to IGF-1 gene polymorphism after Taekwondo training for 16 weeks. Therefore, the study suggested a possibility that Taekwondo training might have an effect on physical fitness and growth index according to IGF-1 gene polymorphism. Also, regular Taekwondo training is expected to be helpful for improving physical fitness and growth indexes of growing children.
