Beauty consumers intend to express their personality and show consumption characteristics such as need for uniqueness and curiosity, thus showing boredom and switching behavior to product and brand. This study intends to provide helpful data for the development of beauty brands by analyzing the influencing relationship between need for uniqueness, curiosity, and boredom. For this, female consumers in their 20s to 30s that have the experience of buying color cosmetics within the past 1 year were asked to respond to a survey. The following is a brief summary of the research results. First, creative choice and avoidance of similarity among the beauty consumer’s need for uniqueness affects product boredom, and unpopular choice does not affect product boredom. Avoidance of similarity and unpopular choice affects brand boredom, and creative choice does not affect brand boredom. Second, curiosity as a feeling of interest and curiosity as a feeling of exploration among the beauty consumer’s curiosity affects both product boredom and brand boredom. The variable that has the most significant effect on product boredom is curiosity as a feeling of exploration, and the variable that has the most significant effect on brand boredom is curiosity as a feeling of interest. Third, product boredom and brand boredom among beauty consumer’s boredom affects both product switching and brand switching. The variable that has the most significant effect on product switching is brand boredom, and the variable that has the most significant effect on brand switching is product boredom. Fourth, the creative choice and avoidance of similarity of beauty consumer’s need for uniqueness affects product switching and brand switching, while not affecting unpopular choice. Among beauty consumer’s curiosity, curiosity as a feeling of interest and curiosity as a feeling of exploration affects both product switching and brand switching. Product switching and brand switching is affected the most by curiosity as a feeling of exploration. This research confirms the influence of beauty consumer's need for uniqueness and curiosity on boredom and switching behavior, and identifies the consumer’s need for uniqueness and curiosity as an important variable in purchasing color cosmetics. These results are significant in that they provide theoretical evidence to prevent customer boredom and switching behavior, and extend our knowledge in the field of beauty such as need for uniqueness, curiosity, boredom and switching behavior, which currently lacks academic research. Through this study I hope beauty brands understand consumer psychology and establish appropriate marketing tactic to prevent customer’s switching behavior.
