We report a case of multiple asymptomatic pancreatic endocrine tumors arised in the extrapancreatic tissues. A 51-year-old woman came to our hospital with presense of abdominal tumor. The laboratory data revealed no abnormal findings. Imaging diagnosis using CT, US and MRI revealed a 10×10cm tumor located at the right side of the SMV, and a 4×4cm tumor located at the left side of that. We suspected multiple sarcomas that were primary origin of mesenterium. The patient underwent operation and the tumors were removed without resection of pancreatic tissue. She was still alive 18 months after operation with no recurrent tumor. Microscopic and immunocytochemical examination showed gastrin producting pancreatic endocrine tumors. This case is so rare that it comes to the third report in Japan as to multiple asymptomatic (gastrin producing) pancreatic endocrine tumors, or the second one as to that arised in the extrapancreatic tissues.
