Analysis of incidents and accidents occurring during medical treatment in human medical care has been reported in details. Animal husbandry activities are conducted in various fields, however there are no detailed reports on incidents and accidents in animal medical care. This study aimed to analyze case studies of incidents and accidents in dog and cat rearing facilities and to implement it for future rearing. Incidents and accidents reports accumulated at the Department of Comparative Animal Science, Faculty of Life Science, Kurashiki University of Science and the Arts from the fiscal year 2014 to 2019 were analyzed by cross-match tabulation, and subdivided into five categories. The results showed that similar to that in the human care facilities, the number of reports was higher in the afternoon, when inexperienced breeding personnel and operations are concentrated. More effective measures were considered necessary to prevent incidents and accidents from occurring in animal husbandry activities in the future.
