The applicability of small punch (SP) testing technique to the creep remaining-life assessment of 9Cr steel boiler piping was investigated in this study. The experimental results showed that the difference in creep strength between the heats, that is, the heat-to-heat variation, was well reflected in the SP creep property. Additionally, the SP creep rupture data were well correlated with the uniaxial one using the load/stress conversion coefficient (F/σ) estimated by the displacement to maximum load of SP test.
