Amamizu Drink is Japan’s first bottled beverage made from rainwater. The purpose of the developing of this product was to counter the public impression that rainwater is dirty and increase acceptance of rainwater as a viable water resource. To this end, we worked to design a label that would effectively reach target users through repeated prototyping and verification, and to improve the appeal of the product with an eye toward overseas development. Amamizu Drink has been produced, made market ready, and publicized, and advertising has been picked up by multiple media outlets. Tand together with the positive feedback from SNS and other media, it has created sufficient buzz to improve public sentiment toward rainwater.
