In the 21st century, the strong challenge of Postmodernism is blowing toward to the Korean society and church. Postmodernism fundamentally refuses to authority and truth. Therefore, homosexuality of the most important of social issues which has been influenced by postmodernism. In result, the Korea society and church have been divided into homophobia and homophillia because of homosexuality controversy. This article is to study homosexuality by using Richard R. Osmer’s practical theological methodology in his book, Practical Theology : An Introduction. Firstly, in general this paper shows what is homosexuality. Secondly, it deals with homosexuality controversy in terms of social(legal), cultural, scientific, and theological(biblical) debates. Thirdly, we examine the Korea society and church have been divided into homophobia and homophillia because of homosexuality controversy. Fourthly, it suggests how to resolve the bipolarized debates(homophobia and homophillia) about homosexuality by providing John R. W. Stott’s Pastoral Alternatives in his book, Same-Sex Partnerships?
