Ship information provision quantity in the Vessel Traffic Service(VTS) has used in internal and external purposes such as evaluation of VTS performance, reallocation of VTS operators and so on. Until now, VTS operators count ship information provision quantity manually during their vessel monitoring and controlling tasks. In the meantime, VTS operators are hard to count their information provision quantity due to their inherent tasks. In this study, in order to obtain accurate information, we propose regression equations for calculating the ship information provision by analyzing voice communication between VTS and navigating vessels and ship encounter cases. For implementation of the proposed analysis method, VTS voice communication and encounter data of the Mokpo harbor VTS are applied and regression equations for ship information provision quantity are obtained. In the experimental results, CPA/L quantity in harbor area and outsea area are 1.16 and 0.76 times higher than information provision quantity.
