Technology commercialization has emerged as a core factor of economic success of a firm as well as a virtuous circle of national economic growth. But the technology commercialization process includes various types of Gaps. The gap in the process of technology commercialization results from lack of information exchange among the stakeholder at each stage. Lack of bidirectional information transmission causes discord in understanding the value of technology and financing difficulties, resulting in market failure. Therefore, mutual understanding among the principal agents on the value of technology can be considered the first necessary step for successful commercialization of technology. This study empirically analyzed the gap faced in the process of technology commercialization. Especially, we focused on the gap of technology and product Perception among technology developers and market end-users. Analysis Results showed that there was a gap between the two groups. Technology developers have evaluated technology attributes better than market end-users. And They perceived the rational value of the product as higher than the emotional value. But market end-users perceives the emotional value higher. The results imply that since the evaluation of technology and product based on technology developer's self-evaluation can be wrong, the understanding of needs in the market is utmost necessary in technology and product development.
