The purpose of this study is to provide the baseline data that are necessary to the psychological counseling intervention direction for primary and secondary school teachers' mental health. For this, survey data which got from 207 primary and secondary school teachers who are in 5 cities in Gyeongnam and Jeonnam province analyzed. According to the data analysis, school teachers could not solve problem and experience empathic understanding in counseling with their peers. Also, the analysis showed that they want to receive professional counseling from professional counselors. Especially, teachers who have under 5year teaching experience revealed very high rate(86.2%) of counseling needs relatively. With this, teachers regarded acceptive atmosphere as an important considering factor when having counseling and individual counseling was preferred counseling type among several counseling intervention types. Psychological and interpersonal problems emerged as a main appealing problem and counseling for this area demanded preferentially. Based on these results, the necessities of systematic psychological counseling service which provides by schools and education departments should be prepared are discussed.
