This study mainly covers the case of sports psychological counselling conducted by coaches on field. 6 of all the freshman golfers of K university, who are under control of author’s counselling were selected as clients. The study was conducted total 15 times from May to June, 2012 and each trial was carried out regularly once in two weeks. Clients were dissolved with their psychological problems through steps of education-counselling-treatment-evaluation regarding 7 respective themes: anxiety reduction, goal setting, self management, self confidence improvement, motivation, imagery, and routine. As a result, the study contributed to partially settling low accessibility of golfers in field application of sports psychology by coaches supporting them with specialized knowledge about sports psychology. On top of that, it also contributed to drawing an effective result from in-depth understanding of circumstances around golfers and golfers themselves. Lastly, golfers got benefited with the base for the future long-term counselling and training for sport psychological training. Thus, since performance is composed of various factors in combination, it would be more effective that the treatment in a psychological area conducted in connection with other various factors not only with psychological factors. This study showed the positive effect of the psychological treatment, which is flexible and supported with counselling directly carried out by an actual coach, on the enhancement of participants’ performance. Moreover, this paved the way for further development of learning basic skills related to psychological factors by providing golfers from the beginning period with planned program, which is long-term and consistent counselling experience.
