Most recent job competency studies focus only on one of career choice, job search, job foundation, and job adaptation, thus limiting practical job situations. With this problem in mind, the purpose of this study was to analyze the importance and performance of employment preparation competency, job foundation competency, and job adaptation competency perceived by university students and to examine the priority of factors on the quadrant of the importance-performance analysis(IPA). To this end, the survey was conducted for 400 students of four-year D University in the capital area from June to July 2018, and used 349 copies for analysis. The research methods was applied the importance-performance analysis(IPA) of employment preparation competency, job foundation competency, and job adaptation competency perceived and conducted the frequency analysis and T-test. As a research result, first, there were significant differences in sub-factor of employment preparation competency, job foundation competency, and job adaptation competency of university students depending on gender and grade, and the average value of male and the upper grade showed higher than female and the lower grade. By the majors category, there was the significant difference in the sub-factor of job foundation competency, and job adaptation competency, the science and engineering showed higher than the humanities and social sciences. Second, in all the sub-factors on employment preparation competency, job foundation competency, and job adaptation competency, the importance showed significantly higher average value than the performance. Third, the result of IPA on employment preparation competency, job foundation competency, and job adaptation competency, Concentrate Here quadrant included an acquire job-seeking of employment preparation competency, information, technology, and resource literacy of job foundation competency, self-development skill of job adaptation competency. In the quadrant of ‘Keep up the good work’, it included problem solving skill and communication skill of job foundation competency, interpersonal relation skill and organization comprehension of job adaptation competency. In the Low Priority, it included numeracy skill of job foundation competency and change adaption of job adaptation competency, and job experience preparation of employment preparation competency showed at the boundary between Concentrate and Low Priority. In the Possible Overskill, it included self-understanding, job-seeking design, and job information understanding of employment preparation competency and vocational ethics and attitude of job adaptation competency.
