Since the introduction of Electronic Monitoring in 2008, the criminal control system has become more sophisticated. However, as violent crimes due to abnormal motives have emerged as a social problem, and because the reasons for the occurrence of crimes differ from case to case, the need for psychological treatment that induces fundamental behavioral changes has been required. Daejeon Probation Center formed a dedicated psychological treatment team within the Electronic Monitoring Department from January to June 2023 and operated it on a pilot basis. This study conducted a focus group interview with six probation officers in charge of Electronic Monitoring who participated in the project to explore their experiences of collaboration with the psychological treatment team. The results analyzed by the central theme analysis method are 1) existing control management job conflict 2) resolution of job conflict through psychotherapy collaboration, 3) changes in the psychological life of subjects who received internal psychotherapy, and 4) four centers of measures to enhance collaboration effectiveness. A theme was derived. Based on research results, we propose review of the establishment of informaition sharing guidelines between psychological treatment team and probation officers, developing a psychotherapy manual suited to each type of criminal, securing additional independent counselling room, professionalization of psychotherapy expert.
