The purpose of this study is to draw valid and reliable conclusions about the effects of group art therapy papers on the topic of female depression studied in Korea through meta-analysis. A meta-analysis was performed by selecting 48 articles suitable for the research purpose among the master's and doctoral thesis and journal articles published in Korea from 2000 to March 2020 on the topic of female depression. As a result of analyzing the major variables of the thesis, such as by degree, publication year, subject, and experimental group, first, research on art therapy related to depression in women was the most in 2010, and it is continuously published every year by researchers of various majors. Second, the overall average effect size of the paper was large according to the criteria presented by Cohen (1988), and it was found that group art therapy was effective in treating depression in women. By research method, the study that combined quantitative and qualitative analysis had a large effect size, and by treatment method, drawing and flat media were effective. Third, the mainly used technique is a mixed technique. The group size is 5-10 people, the total number of trials is 11-15 times, the number of trials per week is 1-2 times, and the duration is 91 considering the symptoms and group. It can be concluded that it is preferable to set it to ∼120 minutes. The above results are considered to be of high value for use in the evidence of effective programs, composition and operation methods that can overcome the difficulties of women related to depression.
