Centering Hwaseo region, Hwaseo school was concerned about the spirit of the times at the time and studied and discussed Hsin-sul which is the same theme as Sung Confucianism. First of all, their loyalty to the expulsion of wickedness cherished honor of Ju尊周 as it was rooted in the thought of the guiding principle of Confucius in writing the Annals. Eventually this kind of the spirit of the times exalted people’s pride and became the motivating energy that promoted resistance against the foreign forces in the historical crisis. Seupjae’s spirit of the expulsion of the wickedness inheriting Hwaseo’s thought was succeeded to the loyal troops movement against Japanese forces and became a cornerstone that helped restore the national right in times when it was ravaged. Lee, So-Eung’s Sung Confucianism can be broadly divided into the basic principles and the atmospheric force of nature, theory of mind as the basic philosophy, and theory of administration as a thought for practice. All of these are comprised of a consistent system as a whole. To him, one of the most significant theoretical tasks as Confucianism thoughts was Hsin-sul. His moral philosophical spirit of loyalty through Hsin-sul was a justification of the times that attempted to obtain moral subjectivity. Also Seupjae Lee, So Eung, exercising the spirit of loyalty, advocated the direct confrontation against the barbaric invasion of the Western.
